It was a Hectic Year!

November 2009

Wow! Its been a year since I last posted on my blog. For a person with a computer programming and analysis background, I should be ashamed of myself.

Let's not discuss the past. We will pick up with news and business studies moving forward. Who wants to look back at the past dreadful year. We are moving on (for now).

I am preparing for my Final exams for the two MBA classes I am taking this year. Yes I am a little early but I have the time.

Weather: Its sunny in Nashville, Tennessee and 65 degrees.

Sports: The NY Yankees play the PH Phillies tonight for game 6.

Business: Ford made a profit for 3rd quarter 2009 of one billion dollars, Warren Buffet just purchased a railroad, the Fed is keeping rates low, and 7 corporations' executive compensation is being decided by Kenneth Feinberg.

Politics: VA and NJ just elected two republicans Bob Mcdonnell and Chris Christie.

Religion: Jesus is one day closer to returning.

Bailing out the Big Three

GM, Ford and Chrysler are asking the House and the Senate for $24 billion dollars to keep them from filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Each of the CEO's, including Ford's current CEO and former CEO of Boeing Airliners Alan Mulany, are stating that the financial crisis has caused huge losses in their companies. Mulany says that while he worked for Boeing after the 9/11 terrorists attacks in 2001, he witnessed a huge decline in business because people were afraid to fly. He helped Boeing make it through the bad times and says he can do the same for Ford. This crisis is much more widespread and will take much help from congress to perservere.

Thanksgiving Day

Most of America will enjoy this time with their family. While we give thanks let's not forget those who may not have a family or friends of with to enjoy the holiday's.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It is a holiday of togetherness without all of the stresses of Christmas. Thanksgiving is America's holiday that celebrates the giving and recieving of food and shelter between pigrims and indians. We see the american economy fall and can take a step back to relaize why we are here. We are here for sharing and love and kindness and not greed, hate, and rudeness. Thanksgiving this year could not have come at a better time.
